That's a problem.

Margaret Thatcher said "The problem with socialism is that you soon run out of other people's money."

This is especially true when the number of people on social programs (like food stamps) outnumber those who are working full time.

We are so screwed.

    1. I remember being on food stamps twenty years ago. There was a sense of shame that you don't see--anywhere--today.

  2. The scary thing is, it's going to be very, very hard to end that kind of dependence without big problems. Anyone who runs for office calling for cuts to aid will be voted out in favor a of a less "mean" candidate. And when money just DOES run out, there will be some who will probably riot over not being able to get their coke and chips for free any more....

  3. I suggest investing in canned food and shotguns.

Seriously, we're either at the tail end of the welfare state roller coaster or cat at least see it from here. I doubt there's going to be a soft landing.

    1. Yep. Not gonna say we've got plenty of both--bad idea to publicly admit that.
