It's sure not a treat.

Hmm...this is odd. The CDC reports that 114 kids have died from H1N1 since this spring. The same CDC that, according to CBS (usually an Obama shill), has ordered testing to cease, and that all cases of flu-like symptoms are to be reported as Swine Flu.

Something is rotten in Denmark.

Two examples.

I got two examples in my e-mail this week alone of why university campuses need to permit concealed carry.

1. A girl who was out jogging on campus got grabbed, dragged into a nearby empty lot, and nearly raped.

2. Our campus is presenting on the A.L.I.C.E. program--Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate--for use in a possible campus shooting. The official who sent out the e-mail mentioned the "swarming" method of taking down an armed attacker, where students and professors throw stuff at the armed attacker, then group tackle him or her.

If my college's campus was not a weapons-free zone, the campus community would be safer. Criminals tend to avoid areas where potential victims might well be armed.

Silencing the opposition through legislative power instead of logic is not the American way.

In fact, the current administration's attempts to silence the opposition to mandatory Medicaid, through attempting to intimidate, and introducing legislation to silence, talk radio, Fox News, and health insurance providers directly violates the First Amendment.

A hundred years of transnational progressivists working to undermine this country's individual and sovereign freedoms is well on its way to working.

We are so fucked.

I wonder why we don't see stories like this in American news outlets?

The BBC has a story up questioning--honestly questioning--whether man-caused global warming skeptics might have a point. The article fairly covers both sides: the skeptics who believe that solar output and ocean temperatures play a greater role than man could dream of; and the humanocentric global warming activists who say that their science is solid and has accounted for natural explanations, and that humans have a greater impact than all natural explanations.

To be honest, I think that the humanocentric global warming "science" is fundamentally flawed by their sincere religious faith that humans are a nasty parasite, not part of the natural biosphere. And Al Gore and George Soros are their high priests. I think that the idea that humans have a greater impact on world-wide climate than solar output or ocean temperatures is arrogant: yes, we do have an effect, but we are not bigger than Nature.

Been a busy week.

Tuesday was my son's first birthday. We took him to both sets of grandparents' homes, as much because I can't keep my house clean enough for company with an imp underfoot as because the boy loves going to Grandma's house.

At one grandma's house, he got a big slice of homemade bread. And didn't want to let it go, even for cake. It wasn't until he'd eaten the whole thing that he was even willing to take a bite of cake (though he was very willing to just reach out and grab the cake).

At the other grandma's house, he got fries. And his own cupcake (which he demolished instead of eating). We'd stripped him to his diaper, first, and I'd planned on letting Grandma give him a bath in her sink, afterward. And boy, did he need it. He had cupcake down in his diaper with him. All the way down.

I'd planned on posting a last monkey picture, but he wouldn't lay still. This is the best I could do, but it should show just how much he's grown and changed.

This has seriously been one of the best years of my life. I don't think my other half and I have ever been as happy, or had as much fun, as we have this past year.

I couldn't believe it until I'd seen it on three different news outlets.

Wow. What an absolute load of bullshit. Even the White House thought it was a prank, at first.

Barack Hussein Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. And his presidency had only been up and running for a bit under two weeks when he was nominated.

Some critics are saying that it makes a mockery of the prize. I beg to differ, however: no one can make a mockery of this particular prize, because it's impossible to make a mockery of something that satirizes itself.

More global warming news...

A Japanese airline has asked its passengers to use the bathroom before boarding, hoping that the cumulative weight of a plane's passengers' pee will help cut their carbon footprint and stop global warming.

This policy, begun on October 1, is already showing signs of working. Some Idaho school children are having their earliest snow day in the history of their districts, and two ski resorts in Colorado are reporting their earliest season openings in their companies' histories.

Clearly, making everyone go pee before they get on their flights is having unprecedented success in making the world colder. At this rate, we'll cut enough carbon emissions to throw the world back into another ice age.

It's the women, you know.

I hope Kipling forgives me for this update of "The Young British Soldier." I think, under the circumstances, he would.
If you're wounded and left on India's plains,
'Cause the women come chop you into remains,
And then take your rifle and blow out your brains,
Just go to your hell like a terrorist.
The terrorists in the picture learned what Kipling knew and wrote: the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

We've let things go far too long to save our nation.

We are told that we, as a nation are too fat, that our children are dangerously obese because they don't play outside and exercise. Then, we hear that there are school districts that prohibit walking and/or biking to school.

We are told that it takes a village to raise a child. Then, we hear that that only applies if the whole village has a valid child-care license.

Next, we'll hear that parents don't do nearly as good a job raising and teaching their small children as licensed professionals do, so universal preschool (as well as public schooling--no more homeschooling) is absolutely mandatory in attendance.

I will fully admit that I have absolutely no social trust. Unless I was living next door to my best friend, or a family member, I would not trust my neighbor to watch my son. So long as pedophiles are released from prison once they've served their term, I wouldn't want to let my family--raving pacifists, all--to watch him in town, either.

But when the government, or a government-run agency like the public school system, legislates that societal trust is not permissible, we are beyond reigning in the fascists by non-violent means.

God help us. Our hands are tied by those who will not permit us to help ourselves.

Why do we deserve heroes?

Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
--"Tommy Atkins" by Rudyard Kipling

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
--George Orwell
Anyone who makes fun of a soldier crippled to keep the terrorists from attacking innocent civilians on their own soil does not deserve to be so protected.

If the yobs get what they want (i.e., every soldier drawn out of the Middle East, effective immediately), there is only one way to prevent further terrorist attacks on Western nations. Carpet bomb the entire region. Overlap the areas of effect. Wipe out the entire race and religion.

Or, we can ignore the ignorant assholes that think we can all hold hands and sing "Kum-ba-ya," and have them stop hating us because we understand. We can actually write up a declaration of war, as has not been done since we entered WWII, and we can show the enemy that we are not weak.

The only other option is for anyone who does not submit to Islam to die.

So. Instead of GWB instituting a military dictatorship to keep him in power, Obama's simply too weak to prevent one.

France's president basically called Obama a pussy in dealing with the world's issues. Gore Vidal, a historical fiction author that leans so far to the left that he stands at a forty-five degree angle on flat ground, posits that we'll wind up under a military dictatorship with Obama, because he won't see it coming out of the stupidity that is the American voter. Vidal thinks Obama's too educated to realize just how stupid and violent the American voter is.

That speaks volumes, both about Obama's ability to protect us from our enemies and about the contempt that the far left elitists hold for those who work to pay taxes that they live off of.

I really resent being lumped into that category of "stupid and violent." I hold a Masters in Arts degree in English (from one of the farthest left institutions in the Midwest). I am not stupid, I've just been one of the "proles" controlled by the State who's read 1984. In my opinion, that makes me less stupid than Gore Vidal (who, thankfully, didn't invite me to the wedding).

Violent, on the other hand, I may be. But only as a last resort to protect my family, my property, and my ideals.
