FFOT: I got nothin'.

I managed to get enough sleep last night.  We're going to be calling Lowe's later to get the cabinets ordered, and the timing to get the remodel set up.  Yes, it's going to be about $500 over my initial budget, but we will be getting more than we initially planned (we'd only planned bottom cabinets and new countertop; we're getting new top cabinets, too).

Other than the never-ending slog of grading, and a general FO to politics and politicians, I got nothin'.  Go ahead and unload whatever's been pissing you off this week.

  1. Meddling, megalomaniacal, micromanaging administrators can FTFO. As can legislators of the same bent.

Look, we're doing our jobs. We have a DAMN good rate of med-school placements, especially for a small school. We have a DAMN good rate of our other students getting careers in their fields.

So stop trying to ruin what is a good thing with your idiotic ideas. What you SHOULD be doing is looking at us and going "How can we encourage the other departments to be like you?" not looking at us and telling us we need to do the same idiot things that some other departments are doing that are leading to their students being ill-prepared for work and life.

MOST OF THE TIME WHEN A STUDENT 'GETS' AN F, THEY REALLY TRULY **EARNED** THAT F.

    1. Yep. You nailed that one. Administrators can most certainly fuck right the fuck off.

Our paychecks were about half a day late, this time.

  2. Not having anything to rant about on a Friday can FO, with the Black Hole of Nothingness, and can earsex itself in the hopes of filling the empty space within.

Complaining about not having anything to complain about, dammit, FTW.

  3. Been watching your comments of your pending kitchen remodel . . . . and having visions of DIY,s "Renovation Realities". I say this only because Susie is dragging me kicking and screaming down the same path - only our job is a bit bigger - bathrooms, new floor throughout and then kitchen. Heavy sigh. Anyway, looking forward to the blow-by-blow. If you have not watched the show, should be able to find a couple online episodes. They're pretty funny. Wishing you only the best on your project!!!

    1. I'm considering painting half the kitchen while we've got the cabinets torn out. Currently, it's kind of a dark yellow with a crackle finish, with a dark green and cream plaid wallpaper around the bottom--way too dark for the kitchen, since there's no natural light (south facing window covered with a carport). I think the former owner was trying for a Tuscan feel, but it failed pretty badly. I'm thinking a pale cream, maybe with burgundy and green accents...
