FFOT: Cancer.

My father-in-law just lost a sister to it.  Cancer can FTFO.

  1. Effin' A. to that. Cancer can FOAD.

I have another one: idiotic idiots who are so idiotified that they can't take care of themselves, and who have someone (like, maybe a parent) to call TPTB and tell TPTB that TPTB needs to take care of the poor idiot, instead of doing what they should do, and telling the idiot to stop being an idiot and start being responsible. So then TPTB go and find the responsible people and tell them to do the idiot's responsibilities FOR them.

If I ever go "John Galt," it will not be over taxes. It will be over being told, "Oh, here, take on this task that Someone Else (like, maybe, the students) were supposed to do, but they're just too clueless to do it, and we don't want to hurt their feelings by telling them to man up and do it."

    1. Amen to that, Ricki. I hate, hate, hate students who refuse to do things for themselves, and hate those who've jumped in at the least sign of difficulty for these kids' whole lives, and taught them that they can't do things on their own.

    2. All my life has been lived on the premise that whatever is in front of me, I can deal with it. Consequently, over the years I have done a wide variety of things.

On the other hand I keep running into people who tell me "I can't do that!" And I simply cannot figure out why not. What? Legs broke? Arm? Nope, it is ALWAYS the brain that is broken.

Quick, into the pit with them. Nothing like going hungry to wake people up. Sure did me when I was still a teen.

    3. You grew up in an era where your parents didn't swoop in to save you every time you got a little bit frustrated, either, Winston. The majority of teens today simply can't say that.
