I've learned something today.

I learned that having sinus problems will cause your teeth to ache like you have cavities.

Good to know.  Now I need to take something for the problem.

And it really sucks that I don't tolerate Sudafed well.

    1. We don't have any of that in the house. I usually don't have sinus trouble, but with all of the rain, lately...we've got a lot of mold. Which is the only thing that causes me sinus problems.

  2. Your favorite hot toddy may help. The heat may loosen things up, and the alcohol may make you not care.

  3. Good idea. I think I might try that.

That and some pseudo-Sudafed. I can take that near-worthless crap just fine.

    1. Seems like I have had sinus problems forever.....

The best thing for me is the over the counter sodium nasal spray.

    2. Try drinking something hot--it helps.

  4. Look in to Silver Sinus or another colloidal silver nasal spray. Kills the fungus or mold and viruses and bacteria. Not addictive, like Afrin. You want it gone, not masked.

    1. I literally cannot shoot something up my nose like that. Causes me panic attacks.

  5. Get yourself a pneumonia vaccine. It was discovered that sinus problems occurred less and those that did happen were not as severe. I can attest to the fact that this is true. I still have sinus problems, but they are less horrendous.

My solutions for sinus problems: put Vicks Salve on end of nostrils at night, drink Campbell's chicken broth, use Hall's Mentholatus cough drops, put a hot washcloth over my face for the heat and breath deeply to get it into sinuses. I also eat the horsey sauce from Arby's. Like the Chinese restaurant stuff, it opens up sinuses. Or, you can go buy horseradish in a jar from the grocery.

A dehumidifier solves the mold in house problems for me. Use Clorox in water to clean up the mold even where you cannot see it.

I am practically an expert in non-doctor ways to deal with sinus and mold problems. The problems race to my ears, throat, and chest once an infection sets up in my sinus cavities.

    1. I've had the pneumonia shot. Once. It made my arm so sore I couldn't do anything with it for three days. Not something I can afford with the two small ones.

I drink a lot of hot tea, and take pseudo-Sudafed (the PE stuff that only half-assed works), and eat a lot of really spicy food--it generally works. After the lemon, whiskey, and honey toddy last night, I wound up with so much sinus drainage it made me nauseous.

Our AC dries out the air so much it gives the imp a problem with nosebleed. And I just got the worst of the in-house mold thrown out last month, with the last bit of carpet from under the washer and dryer.

It's not an infection, per se--just general clogging. I just needed to get it kick-started draining. Thanks for the advice.

(Another note--Johnson's makes a baby bubble bath with menthol and rosemary that works really well to break up congestion, if you're interested. It's in a green bottle labeled "Soothing Vapors.")
