Oy...

My biscuit cutter broke.  The plastic handle snapped when I pressed down the last time I made biscuits.

Odysseus and I looked at a kitchen and restaurant supply store.  We looked at Walmart.  We looked at our local Big Lots.

We didn't find one anywhere.

Does no one make their own biscuits anymore?

  1. Sometimes thrift stores have good old kitchen implements. Most of the cookie cutters I own came from thrift stores.

I know my mom owns two biscuit cutters; one came from HER mom. I've never thought about buying a cutter; I usually cut them in squares with a knife or use something like an empty canned-milk can with both ends cut out.

    1. Odysseus found a set of four for me in the kitchen supply store...guess I wasn't looking in the right place.

  2. I bought a pack of various sized cutters for the wife several years ago from Macy's. I think they are Martha Stewart brand.

  3. These are steel, but similar to the ones I bought the wife.

  4. I just use a small plastic cup and flour the rim. If you get too many stuck with suction, drill a hole in the bottom.

    1. I've tried the cup method. Mine never rise right when I've used a plastic cup--I think it seals the cut edges too much.
