We brought our little Scotty puppy home today. She's currently sleeping with her head propped on Odysseus's foot. I don't think housebreaking her will bee too difficult--she's really smart, and very attentive to what we want her to do. I think she's decided that we're the alpha dogs, without much effort on our part to convince her.
The kittens, naturally, aren't too pleased. I think they're a little scared of her.

Feed her "puppy food" until she is an adult to insure proper growth.
ReplyDeletePuppy food for the pup, and kitten food for the kittens. As much as they need, for as long as they need. Same as my human toddlers.
DeleteYay! I knew people who had a Scottie. He was a smart little dog. I bet yours will be, too.
ReplyDeleteThe vet said that the puppy was very smart, and cued well on the "big dogs" (Odysseus and me). She adores the kids, and has only had two accidents in the house since we brought her home. I think she has the idea that we want her to go outside for peeing and pooping.
DeleteI never saw myself with a Scotty dog. I have always wanted a pug. I don't think I could be happier than I am with the pooch we've got.
H,
ReplyDeleteGood on the feeding.
We had 2 different young dogs in my neighborhood who were skin and bones eating regular dog food.
A month of so after eating puppy food (high protein) they look great!
