Let 'em join the Girl Scouts.

The shrilly vocal homosexual lobby has its knickers in a twist over the head of a conservative Christian group chosen to lead a prayer at an annual prayer breakfast by the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri.

Okay, girls: first thing right off the bat--it's a prayer breakfast.  A conservative Christian function.  Conservative Christians don't typically approve of your lifestyle (and in fact can and will quote bible verses to support their position).  Of course the leader of a conservative Christian group, such as the Boy Scouts, will be the one chosen to lead the prayer.  Who did you think they'd get, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

Wait...were your tender little feelings hurt that you weren't permitted to stay in the Boy Scouts when you realized you'd rather screw your troop mates than the Girl Scout troop in your town?  Poor little misunderstood drama queens.  I guess nobody told you that the Girl Scouts would let you come play with their makeup kits.

  1. This is something about the modern world I don't get: if you vehemently disagree with the tenets of a group, then why insist on being part of that group, and insisting they change just for you?

Okay, I realize that in some areas there might not be various equivalent-scout options (I think there is some new Atheist Scouts group for people who object to the religious undertones of boy/girl scouting). But I'm not gonna walk into, for example the Campus Progressives club and demand they kowtow to my political attitudes...I just let them have their club and largely ignore them.

I think a lot of groups run into trouble when someone joins with the express desire of "I am going to change and mold this group to fit what I believe they should be"

    1. Ricki, that's exactly what irritates me, that "I don't like that, so I'll join it and make it change" attitude.

It's happened in golf, in law enforcement and search and rescue and fire departments (where it makes us arguably less safe), in the military...

I think, though, that the worst offenders are women who get married thinking they can change their husband if they just try hard enough. And that's the mindset trying to force all of us to change for our own good.

  2. And of course, before anyone brings it up, I'm not talking about groups like White Supremacist groups whose stated goal is to do wrong to others. I'm talking about things like scout troops and religious-instruction groups and ladies' groups and stuff....where what goes on is pretty innocuous, but is apparently offensive to some people because it's not doing what THEY want to be doing.

    1. 10% or so of the population is either gay, lesbian or bi-sexual.

Live with it, because YOU are not going to change the facts.....

    2. OCM, I do not care in the slightest who sleeps with whom. Not my business. I don't want to see it in public, and I think the shrill, screaming activists are the biggest problem the gay population has, right now. Most people don't care about their preferences, but get really irritated with the screaming idiots, and wrongly associate all gay people with the extremists.

    3. If someone wants to start a gay-only club I'm fine with that. Or whatever. What offends me is telling a group with religious ties that they can't invite the person they want to invite to pray at a prayer breakfast, because that person isn't 100% okay with every single belief of every single person....

It's like a student in my class telling me that learning about evolution or the human reproductive system or whatever offends them, so I must refrain from teaching it, simply to protect THEIR feelings.

  3. Why don't they just start a little homo group for their little soon to be gay kids and call it the "GAY SCOUTS" ?

It'd make life a whole lot simpler.

But no.... they are so insecure (because their lifestyle is wrong) that they can only get validation when they tear down other groups and force others to acknowledge their perverted life style.

    1. Matt, not all of them are so insecure. I've got a lot of really good friends that are gay, and they find the screaming extremists really annoying and dangerous. They've told me that they're afraid that the shrill ones are going to fuel a backlash against all of them.

But yeah, they kind of do need their own little group for after they're kicked out of Boy Scouts for eyeing their buddy from behind.

    2. PUBLIC DISPLAYS: I don't like PUBLIC FONDLING, whether you are straight, gay or bisexual!

    3. Absolutely. I don't want to see it, either.
