And here's another reason we should apply the proper penalties under the Geneva Convention.

The Geneva Convention clearly defines legal combatants as those who wear a nation's uniform, wear their weapons openly, and do not hide amongst civilians. It clearly states that any combatant captured not in a nation's uniform, or hiding amongst civilians, is a spy, and may be summarily executed.

For about thirty-two dollars (two rounds each at about fifty cents each, supposing .223 costs a quarter per round), this would never have happened.

And it's why I think the idea of closing Gitmo is a dumb one.

Here's hoping it's more complicated for the new President-Elect than even he suspects.
