About time.

Compean and Ramos have had their sentences commuted. They'll be released in March.

That's the minimum acceptable correction of that particular travesty of justice.

These two individuals were sentenced in 2005 for the crime of doing their jobs as border patrol agents: they stopped a Mexican drug runner who was "smuggling several hundred pounds of marijuana" across the border.

They shot him. In the butt.

As I see it, their main mistake was wounding him instead of killing him.

If ICE didn't want agents shooting drug runners, they shouldn't issue guns.
