Thank you, Captain Obvious.

"While the developing scandal over the targeting of conservatives by the tax agency has largely focused to date on its scrutiny of groups with words such as “tea party” or “patriot” in their names, these examples suggest the government was looking at a broader array of conservative groups and perhaps individuals. Their collective experiences at a minimum could spread skepticism about the fairness of a powerful agency that should be above reproach and at worst could point to a secret political vendetta within the government against conservatives."
News flash, stupid: the vendetta isn't secret

I wonder...does it hurt to maintain such wide-eyed incredulity?

Y'know...

After the way this administration has handled everything thrown at it like the totalitarian thugs they are, I can't see how this hasn't happened earlier, or how anyone can even pretend to be shocked.

Serves 'em right.

Speak up for others' rights.  It doesn't matter if you like a group, or see the relevance to you and your interests or not.  If you don't speak up for the rights of others...who's gonna speak up when it's your turn to have the fist of government shoved up your ass?

And, isn't it specifically the job of the media to shine a huge fucking halogen spotlight on injustices perpetrated by government?  Isn't that the whole purpose of "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of the press"?

Unfortunately, for at least my lifetime, the press has been an arm of the political left.  Which means that, now that the political left has one of their muppets* on the throne in the White House, the press has been an arm of the federal government for the past five years.  And, until now, they haven't given a damn that conservatives have been targeted for reprisal for their opposition to King Putt.  They have not only not given a damn, but actively rewarded those who ordered the targeted auditing of TEA Party groups and other conservative associations.

Now that the Associated Press has been found to be wiretapped--and wiretapped by probable White House orders (despite their whole "Not us--look to the DOJ" attitude), who among us is doing anything but sitting back, pointing and laughing at the useful idiots in the media.

Nobody.  Because they fucking deserve to be laughed at.

The National Socialist party in the 1930's gained power through catering to minority groups like the gay lobby.  Not long after starting to gather power, the party abruptly turned on the gay lobby, treating them much like Jews, only marked with a single pink triangle, rather than a yellow Star of David.

It's good that the media is learning exactly what their political masters are capable of, and discovering how the rest of us feel on a near-daily basis: violated.

Shocking!

The LA Times has reported that the gun crime rate has plunged dramatically since the '90's!  And that, because of the way the media focuses on a few, scattered (if horrific) crimes, people think that the gun crime rate has jumped!

I know!  It's shocking!  I can't believe the LA Times reported it honestly!

Oh, Lord, here we go again.

Dan Rather just can't keep himself from openly displaying how batshit insane he's gone.  I really wish his doctor would adjust his Alzheimer meds, and he'd get a nurse that would make sure he takes them.

I remember when Dan Rather was one of the big names in trusted media.  I remember watching him on the evening news with my grandmother when I was small, long before Alzheimer's stole her from me.  I remember how trustworthy he seemed.

I also remember his "faked, but true" Air Force documents during Bush's re-election try, and his crack up on air when George W. Bush was re-elected.

Now, there's this: "these people politically want to cut [Obama's] heart out and throw his liver to the dogs."

Um...no.  No, we don't.  We want to send him home to Chicago.  We don't wish him any personal harm--that's what those on the far left wish on those of us who want to be left alone, and to not be controlled, because we're standing in the way of their socialist/fascist utopia.

Besides.  I wouldn't want to poison a dog like that.

Heh.

Apparently, San Francisco newspapers are in enough decline that they can no longer fulfill their best use: puppy cage liners at their local humane society locations.

News flash: person who couldn't swim drowned when thrown into deep water!

Seriously.  Our government looked at Canada and Britain, at their health care system, and their doctor shortages, and thought, "Yeah, baby.  That's just what we need over here."  The media, enamored by the idea of a single-payer system where no one has to pay for their own treatment (but everyone has to pay the taxes that pay for everyone's treatment), not only overlooked, but tried to bury the information that our system isn't going to be any different: expensive, cumbersome, inefficient, and deadly to those who need it most.

Those who wanted Obamacare went further than just trying to bury the facts: they openly mocked those who tried to make clear what the nation was getting into.  And they threatened those who were openly against it in congress.

Still, almost 70% of the American people polled said that they didn't want it, or anything like it.

We've had that violation rammed up our collective national ass, regardless.

And now, the media has the chutzpah to be shocked, shocked, that a hospital system is instituting mass layoffs in preparation for the massive jump in costs that they're facing.

Has anyone ever seen what happens amongst those on Medicaid?  How they treat doctors and hospitals?  How they clog the emergency rooms because they don't want to pay for anything out of their own pockets (and have no clue--because they never see a bill--how much more an emergency room visit costs)?

Now, think about how it's going to be when everyone is forced onto Medicaid by ever-increasing insurance premiums, insurance companies going out of business, and the only going concern is "single-payer" health insurance.

And now, imagine that with about half the medical staff in hospitals.

This is what we have to look forward to.

I don't get it...

Why was the news anchor suspended for calling Rachel Maddow an "angry young man" in the first place?  I mean, really.  It's an easy mistake to make.

Not because Maddow is a lesbian.

Because she looks so much like an angry Justin Bieber.

Mixed feelings.

I have to admit once again to approing of something that the Obama administration is doing: according to this, he's ordered an upswing in covert ops in the Middle East.

The mixed feelings come from the fact that someone, likely in the White House, leaked the memo to the press, and it was announced to the world, including the people the ops are set up to take out, in the New York Times. And that puts our ops teams in danger.

What is it with the left and disgusting sex jokes?

I mean, seriously. We've got Chris Matthews getting hard from Dear Leader's speeches, all of the left confusing a major spending protest movement with a demeaning sex act, and now Rachel Maddow demonstrates a lack of understanding of what's acceptable activity to do on camera for a news show.

There are things that should be kept behind a closed bedroom door (or on camera in a porn studio), no matter what team one happens to swing for.

Irony, thy name is...

...Obama.

Although, I do have a theory about why there hasn't been a press conference with the TOTUS taking questions through the spoiled idiot child reading it: the people who put the turtle on the post want him to stay quiet to try to avoid revealing that he didn't get up there by himself. I mean, everybody knows it didn't, but there seems to be a bit of a conspiracy of silence.

And this is one reason why I don't let my students use Wikipedia as a source for their research papers.

Rush Limbaugh was hospitalized during his vacation in Hawaii with chest pains yesterday. He's currently resting comfortably.

Wikipedia has pronounced him dead.

Yeah. Their fact checking is about as good as the mainstream media's was with Obama's books.
