Oh, come on, people!

So, kids are suspended if they fight back when bullied.  Now, they get felony charges for wiretapping for recording the bullying?

I have one thing to say, here:

The kid's parents enabled their son's abuse by putting him in that environment, and they are further abusing him by leaving him there.  It was not an easy decision for me to agree to put my kids in private school.  There is no way on earth I'd ever put them in public school.

Public school = child abuse.  End of story.

  1. I agree. I homeschooled mine.

My brother Terry had a different approach. When kids bullied his son, he told the the boy to beat their asses, which his son did handily. Then the Principal called my brother and his son in, and said she was suspending the boy for fighting. My brother laughed in her face and they went fishing on the boat that week and had a great time.

    1. My imp is likely to not be a target, but he's also likely to defend those that are.

    2. That's outstanding. Public schools try very hard to turn boys into gutless drones. We need stalwarts a lot more than we need more spineless drones.

    3. He'd be constantly in suspension (or expelled) in public school. Just one more reason it's not an option for him.

  2. Understood, but not everyone can 'afford' private school... And I agree with Harry...

    1. No, because most people put other things higher on their priorities list. My husband and I would qualify for assistance; however, this is very, very important to us, so we cut other things from our budget so we can find the money.

And the entire Earned Income Tax Credit is going to pay for tuition--for the kids, and for Odysseus--rather than stupid crap like the latest electronic toy, or a new tattoo.

  3. HH, your point is valid, but I also know folks that just flat can't afford the $$ due to single income and medical issues for the wife.

    1. That does make a difference. If we only had Odysseus's income, I'd be homeschooling.

Then again, my chronic medical issue is helped by a single, $4 prescription.
