I don't recall hearing any "complete shutdown" of any city hosting a May Day Occupidiot protest. I've heard of violence, and of vandalism, but not of any "complete shutdown" of commerce.

DeleteThe thing is, the "real" 99% were going to work, caring for their families, volunteering at food banks, picking up trash in their neighborhoods...boring stuff like that.

I heard some guy giving a soundbite about how he was occupying because he "wanted to make the world a more beautiful place." I almost had an aneurysm.

Ricki--you're right about that. I nearly laughed myself sick about making the world a more beautiful place--my first reaction was "Well, then: take yourself out of it."
