The pixie woke up from her nap just wailing. Inconsolable.
Until I asked her if she wanted to help me make cookies. She dumped the sugar, the flour, the oats, and the chocolate chips into the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough, then watched me scoop them out onto the cookie sheet.
Last night, she helped me make the pasta bake--dumped the 16 oz package of macaroni into the pan, then stirred the sauce and water into the pasta before we put it in the oven.
I thought I would have at least another year before she started wanting to help me cook. And even now, it's almost impossible to keep her away from the stove.

I have had a long search for an oatmeal cookie that I thought was edible. I finally found it in a cooking from food storage book. BUTTERSCOTCH oatmeal cookies. These guys keep me coming back to make another batch.
ReplyDeleteOK, Guess I have to fess up here...I AM a butterscotch fan. And YES, add butterscotch perversion of chocolate drops, LOL.
Now THERE is a cookie!!!!

Sounds interesting. The recipe we use is on the back of the Wal-Mart brand of oatmeal, and is pretty good.
