I really hope it's not true. I hate Elmo. The imp hates Elmo. But I strongly suspect it's Elmo's speech patterns (which is what the imp hates most) that got the imp comfortable with speaking up for himself, even though it's not adult speech patterns (which is what he tries very hard to emulate, and gets upset and bothered when he can't).
