I'm gonna get sick of The Lion King

I introduced my imp to Disney, recently.  Actually, my mother-in-law introduced him to Disney with Bambi.  And she's paying for it--every time we go visit, he begs to "watch deer?  P'ease?  Watch deer on TV?"

Cute as that is, she's getting really sick of it.  He saw it for the first time about two or three months ago.  Since then, she's seen it about three or four dozen times--two or three times per day every time he goes to spend the night.

I don't have Bambi.  I've got The Lion King.  So, here at home, he begs to "watch 'ions?  P'ease?"

He's limited to just before bedtime, when Odysseus is working.  That way, I can take the pixie and nurse her down to sleep without worrying about the imp getting into anything.  And that way, I see it as little as possible.

I think I need to get a few more movies.  One of my favorites when I was little was the animated Disney Robin Hood.  He'd probably also like The Fox and the Hound, but there's no way I'm getting him that one.  I hate that one.  It makes me cry (like Lion King and Bambi are much better).

  1. Boo has become hooked on Star Wars. The original trilogy, of course. I allow him to watch them as a treat.

For Disney movies, you can't go wrong with Pixar. Of course, they all try to get you to start bawling at some point.

  2. I feel your pain. It gets to the point where I dictate what will be watched after I realize I have most of a kid's movie memorized. I make the change to a different movie for them and they have to deal with it.

  3. DaddyBear, 45er--the imp is three. I have to be careful what I show him, and there's a lot he's just not interested in, yet.

It has to have animals. Or trains. Or cars. (He loves watching the British Top Gear with Odysseus.) Much else, and he's just not interested.

  4. My daughter tormented us with "Little Mermaid" as a child. Not it's her turn to be tormented. Revenge is sweet!!!!! :)

Sounds like you need a garage sale trip - do they have those in your neck of the woods??

    1. They will in a month or two. Right now, the weather's too iffy. SW Missouri typically has about a month of spring weather--usually between February and June, and without having two days of consecutively spring-type weather. Or at least, not usually good spring-type weather. Usually people wait until May or June to start really having the good sales. July's better.
