Food fights

Did you know that it can sometimes take my three year old daughter three hours to eat something she likes?  And that my son frequently harasses other people at the table until I have to send him back to his room to wait until everyone else is done eating?

Is this normal behavior for three and five?  Or are mine just...infuriating?

  1. When I was a child, my mother gave us thirty minutes to eat. We did, or she'd pick up our plate and send us on our way.

I don't know if it was a good thing, or not, but it was more for my brothers, who could be irritating; especially when they didn't like something, slipped it on my plate and I ate their helping, also. I liked most everything and my metabolism allowed many extra calories, until puberty....which is an entirely different story.

All in all, it helped with life in construction. Construction lunch breaks last thirty minutes, which is the time period for meals I learned as a child.
