We all know what the answer to this is going to be...

The United States is asking the UN for permission to go after the Somali pirates on land.

The UN disapproves of us hunting pirates in international waters. What makes our government think they'll give us permission (that we don't really need) to hunt the pirates on land?

  1. I wrote into the local RWDB radio show some time back. The numbers have changed (increased) a little in the intervening years, but the sentiment is still appropriate.

Twenty years ago, I laughed at the people who thought we should pull out of the U.N.

Ten years ago, I quit laughing.

    Now I'm one of them.

  2. I'm not only one of those who'd like to see us pull out of the U.N., I'd like to see us either raise and enforce their rent, or kick them out of our country.

That particular body has become too corrupt to serve its original purpose, and we're too nice to force it to act in our best interests.
