A little more privacy, please?

On a purely gut-level "this ain't right" reaction, I really don't like this. It's not that I mind sharing what I make per year in income (it's pitiful, and should shame the university I work for), I don't think the government has any business having access to what everybody makes in every job outside of every year's prepared taxes.

    "Paycheck Fairness Act"?

    Why is it now that everything bad is given a name that makes it sound good?

    I guess George Orwell was off by some 26 years.

    Big Brother used to be a bit more circumspect about all of the newspeak, back when people still read Orwell and Huxley.

    Now, we're lucky if they read Meyers and Rowling, so the gubbermint can use whatever terminology they think they can use to lull the majority to sleep. I mean, hello: "Patient Protection Act"? That's the last thing that is going to do!

    Next thing you know, there's going to be a Ministry of Truth "fact-checking" all of us bloggers and the other non-mainstream-media.
