Greed? Maybe, but whose?

Harry Reid said that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was caused by...GREED!!

He may well be right, but I don't think it was the oil company's greed, necessarily, at fault. More likely his party's greed for campaign contributions from British Petroleum caused the Obama administration to rubber stamp the rig that caused the spill.

  1. Greed indeed!

GREED is what has caused the world wide financial crisis!

Capitalism has run its course and will not recover.......

  2. Yeah, greed did cause the financial crisis, but it wasn't capitalist greed. It was the socialists who were greedy for kickbacks that foisted the subprime mortgage market on us, and socialists that set up the (now collapsing) welfare state that's dragging the rest of the world's economy down with it.

I won't deny that capitalism needs to be restrained in certain instances--but current efforts aren't going the right way for that to actually do what needs to be done. What's currently being done is strangling the parts of the market that still work.
